Grants, New
Mexico is located about 30 miles northeast of Sky Mountain which is a driving time of about 40-50 minutes. Gallup New Mexico is about 40 miles away and will take about one hour in driving time. Gallup, New Mexico is known as the epicenter of Native American history, art, culture and tradition in the southwest. There is probably not another location in the country that has more southwest native art available for display and or purchase.

El Morro
National Monument – Inscription Rock and Atsinna Pueblo located about 10 miles South of Sky Mountain Ranch, New Mexico.
El Morro Mesa, a part of the El Morro National Monument, has been a historical landmark in the high desert of New Mexico for centuries. The spring-fed refuge has been a favorite camping spot for the ancient Anasazi and Zuni traders. Spanish Conquistadors, Spanish Governors, U.S. Army and Calvary, as well as pioneers, have all carved their mark on the cliff side. The soft, flat rock contains numerous inscriptions dating back hundreds of years is now known as Inscription Rock and is a popular historical site. The first written record of El Morro dates back to March 11, 1583. |
